Expired Makeup... Never!
NEVER LET YOUR MAKEUP EXPIRE EVER AGAIN!
Makeup is a luxury, period! And the investment can become costly, so the desire to hold on to it as long a possible is understandable. From the time spent shopping in store and/or online can be daunting and frustrating (see my personal shopper services if you need help in this area) and then how many times do you use it all plays a big role in wearing makeup. No matter how little or how much it’s worn.
Whenever I hear a client or someone in my makeup classes says that they’ve struggled with this, the first question I ask is “Why are you holding on to this for so long?” Everyone has their own reasons of course but majority of the responses are due to the cost and no one wants to throw it away so soon. Well… makeup does have a shelf life and you must not keep it too long past it’s expiration time.
Holding on can cause more harm than good, so instead of being focused on the financial aspect of things. I’ll educate more on the harm it can cause. Because old makeup can lead to infections and illness that may need medical treatment. So to keep yourself accountable, I created “Makeup Expiration Cheat Sheet & Tracker”. A guide to help ensure that you’ll never use makeup past it’s expiration time from this day forward.
HELPFUL TIP: Purchase a black or silver metallic sharpie. Write the date (month & year) of when you “first” used the product on the bottom or side of the bottle, compact, palette or tube. Doing this will help you stay accountable of how long you’ve had it without guessing how long it’s been in your your makeup bag, drawer or vanity.
The above photo illustration are products from my personal makeup collection that I paid for myself. These products are not sponsored, linked to an affiliate or from my professional makeup kit that’s used on clients. This is shown to illustrate that I practice what I preach!!! (smile).
