CBS Sports Shoot With Jim Brown!

Yesterday I had an amazing opportunity to work with legendary football player, activist & Jim Brown for a highlight for the NFL "Thursday Night Football" and CBS Sports.  The shoot was taken place at Miami University and will be seen on television tonight during the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns game.  And to give you a glimpse of what went on to put this promo together, I'm sharing a few behind the scene photos that I'm sure you'll enjoy!  Also be sure to follow #TNF on all social media outlets.

TV Commercial!

Last month I had the pleasure of working on set for a television commercial produced and directed by Tony Pierce of Pierce Media Inc. for Center for Closing the Health Gap.  Which has already started airing on various television channels and will end by Thanksgiving.

Center for Closing the Health Gap is a non-profit organization, founded in 2004, committed to raising awareness about and eliminating racial and health disparities across Greater Cincinnati.

I've shared below the commercial along with a few photos from what was involved to make it all happen. Enjoy!

Cincinnati Makeup Artist: Fabulous Furs Catalog

There's nothing more exciting like seeing your work on the cover of a magazine or catalog.  The Donna Salyers' Fabulous Furs holiday 2015 catalog is out and filled with some new and "fabulous" items for women, men, children and your home.

I'm ever so grateful to get the many opportunities to work on their photo shoots.  While supporting a cruelty-free company.  Yes that's right, all of Fabulous Furs items are 100% faux (fake) fur.

Tatyana & Alan!

The countdown to the end of my busy 2015 wedding season will soon begin. And last weekends wedding was so beautiful, realizing that actually made me a bit sad.  Tatyana and Alan tied the knot & partied all night at The Manor House, one of my favorite venues!

The direction I chose for her makeup was completely inspired by her Maggie Sottero gown from Bridal & Formal.  Matte contoured skin with highlight and shimmer  on various parts of her face.  Shimmery smokey eyes using a Dior eye shadow palette, pink glowing cheeks by NARS and a shiny deep mauve lip.  After curling her lashes, I applied not one but two pairs of false lashes by gluing them both together before application... one pair for lengthening and another for thickening.

Hair for Tatyana and her entire bridal party was done by Melissa & Kara from Salon Neveah.

Reading Bridal District Bridal Show

Last week (Thursday, Sept. 17) was the Reading Bridal District "Fall In Love" outdoor bridal show.  Benson Street was shut down for several hours as tons of amazing wedding vendors were set up with booth tables.  In addition to some amazing food and music on just about every block!  There were a ton of brides that attended the show and I enjoyed meeting those that stopped by my booth in front of the studio.

And of course the streets were filled with tons of models, modeling some of the most gorgeous gowns that everyone wished for.  And to add a bit of luxury and glam to the fantastic evening, LUXEredux Bridal model Kristina took everyone's breath away in the three amazing gowns.  Jenny Packham, Amsale Bridal and Christos Bridal.  And yes I did her makeup for the evening!

LUXEredux Bridal is a high-end consignment boutique filled with amazing boutique sample gowns with two Ohio locations; Cincinnati and Columbus.  Visit their Instagram page for more photos of the gowns.

The show was filled with energy and excitment, so of course I even found the time to do a few Periscope videos!  Watch below.

TBT: Cintas Photoshoot

Today's "Throwback Thursday" took place this past July I had the pleasure in being the key makeup artist for the Cintas 2015-2016 Fall Sourcebook.  An industrial unform company catalog that comes out once a year.  This was actually my second year working on set for these shoots, but my first year working as the key makeup artist.  It was a busy four day shoot that had taken place at various locations, all to capture the essence of what the company focuses on... corporate identity branding in uniforms.

The makeup for photo shoots such as this is clean, not over the top, matte and realistically natural.  For both men and women.  Makeup for men is quite simple and exists of covering blemishes, redness, scars, etc with light foundation and concealer.  Followed by an application of face powder to tone down the shine, to keep from appearing oily on camera.  Makeup for women is just as similar but of course a little bit of color on the cheeks, eyes and lips.

A Valentine's Day Wedding

Love was definitely in the air when Sarah & Erik were married on the day that's known as Love Day... Valentine's Day!  Glam time for Sarah and six of her bridesmaids took place at the Cincinnatian Hotel.  While music and mimosas filled the room, there was nothing but laughter, dancing and of course makeup that made the day everso perfect.  Check out the following images by Dolce Vita Photography of their beautiful winter wedding.

Cincinnati Makeup Artist: Lur Apparel Photo Shoot

Today I had the pleasure of being the makeup artist on the set of a photo shoot for Lur® Apparel.  An eco-friendly fashion line in womens clothing.  Lur® creates products from 100% recycled materials and gives back to various communities.

The team at Lur Apparel going over images to choose for the website.

Here's a few behind this scene images from today's shoot with photographer Peggy McHale Joseph, and their model Heather L.  To learn more about Lur® Apparel, visit their website www.lurapparel.com

Beauty Tip: Removing Makeup!

Do you sometimes find it difficult in removing makeup, spending more than 10 minutes in getting off? Mostly when wearing long-wear and/or waterproof products. Well here’s a beauty tip…

Before cleansing your face with cleanser and water (not soap). Use an oil based makeup remover to take your makeup off. And for those who’d rather go the “all natural” method, use either Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil or Extra Virgin Olive Oil (shown below) and THEN cleanse.

**Also excellent in removing Halloween makeup**
