A LITTLE PUMPKIN IS ON THE WAY

As many of you may (or may not know) my daughter is having a baby. And this past Sunday was her baby shower. And the title of the theme was “A Little Pumpkin Is On The Way”.

I’m truly grateful to the many people that helped make this a beautiful event. (see breakdown below)

I have so much respect for event coordinators, planners & designers. How they do this on a regular basis, I’ll never know. I was worn out (mentally & physically) the next day… LOL!!! I don’t want to paint another pumpkin or blow up & tie another balloon for a while. 😂

A special THANK YOU to The Confetti Room owner, planner and designer Simone Charles for her amazing work. She truly went above any beyond to make this happen.

Parts of the family provided the food. However, we did have a slight “chicken” emergency the morning of. So I put my resources in action and reached out to the owners of Richie’s Chicken / Colerain Avenue who saved the day.

Between socializing, eating and opening gifts. The DJ kept us all on our feet dancing. Who is also a family member, was my daughters uncle Norris.

I didn’t hire a photographer, so I missed the opportunity in capturing everything but I did get a few using my iPhone in “Portrait Mode”. What a great feature.

There was much laughter and tears of joy she’d throughout the day. But it wasn’t until my daughters God-Mother (Tonya Childress-Davis) serenaded Brooke with a snippet of “More Than Anything” by Anita Wilson. And she did it acapella style. Talk about tear jerker!

And who did my daughters makeup??? Well I did, she insisted. How could I say no. LOL! Everyone left happy and my daughter went home with tons of gifts, cards and a huge smile on her face. No, not everything went as I planned but I’m the end it all worked out. 💙
